MICHELLE BELMONT
NINETEEN • JUNE 14, 1997 • FEMALE • HUMAN • BLOOD MAGIC • STUDENT/DESK ATTENDANT
Pink • Seafoam Green • 5’ 5” • 135 lbs
Appearance,
Michelle stands just above average height at five feet, five inches. She weighs around one-hundred and thirty-five pounds, thanks to a combination of her semi-healthy diet and her constant exercise thanks to her (cautious) walks around town. Her body has an hour-glass shape to it, with a large upper half, a slim waist, and wide hips. Her skin is an average tone, in between an olive tone and a pale white tone. Case in point, she will be more likely to tan than burn. She has straight, brown hair that reaches her lower back and flutters around her hips. No one can tell this, however, because she dyes her hair pink to help her distance herself from the past. She has big eyes and her irises are a beautiful sea foam green color.
She prefers to dress more on the feminine side, wearing lots of skirts and button-up blouses. Her typical outfit consists of a white blouse with a green blazer over top and a short, tan, plaid skirt. The black collar around her neck holds a “rosary” with a large cross at the end with a large, red gem in the center. She wears it all the time because it was passed down in her mother’s family for generations. She has a crescent-shaped birthmark on the back of her neck, indicating that she can wield magic. She has a small blue butterfly tattoo on her lower back and has a scar down her side from the car accident that killed her father. She also has various scars on her arms and palms from being taught how to use blood magic spells, despite her vehement protests.

Spells and Abilities,
Bleeding Pool - This spell is most usually used as a trap which is most effective when used on the fly and to catch off guard. The user may sacrifice only their own blood in the use of this particular spell. He or she allows his or her blood to spill, creating a puddle on the ground. On activation of the spell, the puddle expands out into a pool of blood. Anyone crossing the pool will find their steps hindered, their physical movement slowed and their stamina starting to drain away. This spell lasts for only a minute or two before disengaging, but is perfect for hindering pursuers or setting up counterattacks. Like all blood magic spells, the fact that one must sacrifice blood to cast it poses a threat, as it will physically weaken the caster.
Corrupting Infusion - This is a blood magic spell which requires both a sacrifice from the caster AND the presence of the caster's blood in the target victim's body. This can be achieved in a variety of ways, though the most common is forcing the target to ingest the caster's blood. Interestingly, the spell can be set up well in advance of activating it; the caster's blood lying dormant in the target's body until the spell is activated. Upon a sacrifice of blood from the caster, the target will experience immediate and very intense flu-like symptoms, as well as intense physical pain. The intensity of the symptoms increases with the amount of the caster's blood present in the target's body. The purpose of this spell is to immobilize and incapacitate or torture, and can not be used to kill. Though very useful, it does have its downfalls. The spell can be maintained at most for 10 minutes before the caster will begin to experience the same physical symptoms as the target. In addition to this, once the spell has been activated and deactivated once, more of the caster's blood must be forced into the target's body before the spell can be used again on him or her.
Red Thorns - An interesting fact to note about this spell is that it is one of the only ones that does not use the blood sacrificed by the caster to put the spell into effect. It is a combat spell which is generally used as a last ditch effort due to the effect that it has on the caster. The caster makes a blood sacrifice and then activates the spell, which causes thorns of solidified blood to burst forth from their skin in all directions, which can cut and impale anyone caught within the range of the spell. In general the thorns extend out 5 feet in every direction from the caster's body, making the spell difficult to avoid if the target is already in close range. While this spell is potentially very deadly and useful, it also has major downfalls. Besides the usual drain on the user's body, the casting of the spell causes incredibly intense, crippling pain. If the spell does not hit, the user is likely to be immobilized by the pain caused.

Likes, • Candy- If there is one thing that you could give Michelle to please her, it would be candy. Her favorite kind is M and M’s. • Water- Despite the fact that Michelle grew up in the city, she developed a great love of the water. Her fondest memories were ones that she made while she was down the shore with her parents when her dad was still alive. • Books- Michelle seems to have her nose in a book at any free moment when she feels safe. Her favorite types of books are fiction and she has pretty much read nearly every subgenre of fiction. She does not really have a favorite subgenre in mind; she likes to keep her mind open to all possibilities. • Sketching- While she is not a fantastic artist, Michelle does like to sketch other people, especially when they are interacting. She finds the range of human emotions interesting to try and put down on paper, despite the fact that it can be hard to convey mixed emotions. • Kindness- Michelle’s life basically got turned upside down after her father died. Things in her house became very tense and uncomfortable. Her stepfather was not nice to her, to put it lightly. Any kindness that Michelle receives is welcome with open arms and a small, shy smile. | Dislikes, • Blood Magic- Despite the fact that it is the magic she wields, Michelle hates blood magic. She has a low tolerance for pain and fears that she will lose control if she uses it. As such, she does not use the skills that she learned unless she really needs to get out of a bad situation. • Being touched without her consent- Michelle is very skittish about touch. She prefers to initiate contact with someone; however, if that is not possible, one should ask her before touching her. Otherwise, she will either defend herself by putting up her fists or run away as fast as she can. • Violence- Michelle has seen the cycle of violence firsthand and is determined to break it. Of course, she knows that she will have to fight if she needs to defend herself, but she prefers to try and talk things out before “putting up her dukes”. • Loud noises- Michelle has very sensitive hearing, so any loud noise will often scare the poor girl half to death. She will often clutch her ears and, in some cases, even hide under a table. Of course, when she finds out what the sound was, she will often feel silly. • Being so nervous- Michelle is very aware of the fact that she is skittish, and she hates it. She knows, however, that she cannot help herself because of her past. She tries very hard to make up for her skittishness by being friendly and sweet, but she knows that people might get annoyed by her constant flinching at unfamiliar contact or hiding from loud noises. |
Personality,
Michelle is a very sweet young woman, plain and simple. She always seems to have a small smile on her face, as if she wants to make the world better by spreading joy, even if it is minute. She is very shy upon first meeting someone, often looking down at her feet and mumbling. Some people may get frustrated with this attitude, or even believe it to be disrespectful. If someone mentions this to her, she will immediately become apologetic and maybe will become a little more open. More often than not, a person will need to have three or four encounters with Michelle before she “trusts” them enough to take down the emotional walls she has built around herself. When she opens herself up, though, she is very friendly and kind-hearted. She would be the type of person to take a mouse off of the road so it does not get hit, even if it means putting herself in danger. Of course, her attitude with humans is a little more wary, due to the dark parts of her past; however, anyone that Michelle considers a friend will come to find that she is a very charming and loyal young woman. She is willing to put aside her own time to help her friends in any way that she can, even if it means putting herself in danger. She has a good sense of humor and will often understand sarcastic jokes with ease, though she does not consider herself very funny. She has a tendency to laugh or giggle at someone’s joke, even if she does not think it is very funny. She does like to have fun, but she prefers to do it in such a way that it is still in her “comfort zone”. She enjoys being around her friends or people she knows; however, after some time of being with them, she needs some time to recharge. She is an avid lover of books and, if given the chance, will talk about them all day. Anyone who engages her in conversations about books is “okay” in her book, though she will hardly tell them her whole history. In fact, it will probably take a very persistent and trustworthy person for Michelle to completely open up to.
While Michelle is very sweet, she is also very nervous and skittish. Loud noises make her clutch her ears and run, since, more often than not, the noises trigger memories that she would rather forget. Despite the sweet smile that seems to be pasted on her face, she is always anxious, fearing what might be around every corner. This anxiousness is amplified by her ability to wield blood magic, because she has heard rumors that casting spells causes evil spirits to cling to you. She will often shrink back from a person coming toward her, though she does not mean to show that she is unfriendly. Even when someone is coming to help her, there always seems to be a small glimmer of fear in her green eyes. She does not like being so on-edge all of the time, but she supposes that it is simply an adaptation she has made to deal with the horrors of her past. She will not admit it to anyone, but it is not only memories of the past she fears, for there is another side of her that she does not want anyone to see.
There is a side of Michelle, however, that most people do not see. Of course, her appearance does not change, but the sweet and kind girl seems to disappear. She is replaced by what can only be described as Michelle’s complete opposite. The smile that is usually present on her quiet and cheerful face becomes a sneering smirk. She stands up straighter and speaks clearer, though she carries and air of superiority about her. All of the fear and anxiousness that is present in the “other Michelle” seems to dissipate. Her green eyes twinkle with a light of mischief and her sweet words become sarcastic. This side of Michelle is fully aware of her appeal, so to speak, and uses it to her advantage. She can charm her way in or out of any situation, for the most part, by only stringing a few pretty words together. Interacting with the nearly psychopathic side of this beautiful young lady is often difficult due to her constant use of sarcasm and taunting comments as well as her tendency to listen only half-heartedly. This side of Michelle only seems to care about herself, and makes sure that she gets what she wants, no matter what the cost. The catalyst for this transformation is her use of blood magic, so it is not often that someone will see this side of Michelle. Besides the negative effects that the magic has on her body, the magic can also cause this Michelle’s “personality” to, essentially, become more and more violent and psychopathic. If she uses the magic too much, she will most likely go insane temporarily and might even end up killing someone if she is not restrained somehow.
History,
Michelle Belmont was her parents’ “miracle child”. Her mother had trouble conceiving for the five or so years that she and her husband had been trying. The Belmonts were ready to give up when Anna found out that she was pregnant in December of 1996. The soon-to-be parents were thrilled to be parents and eagerly made preparations for their baby, though they did not know if it was a boy or a girl. Anna’s pregnancy was normal, for the most part, and Michelle Belmont was born on an extremely humid June 14, 1997.
Michelle was described by her mother as a “mild-mannered” baby, who only cried when she needed something and otherwise, seemed to be giggling and smiling. Her entire family doted on the little girl, always offering to watch her and taking her to parks to play with other children. The little girl seemed to enjoy trips and watched out the window with great interest, pointing to things and babbling. Her parents were so overjoyed and proud to have such a smart baby and tried to teach her how to do some things early. Of course, she learned things at her own pace, but, compared to some kids that she met on the playground, she was “smarter”. Anna and her husband, Jim, sometimes worried about their little girl being left out as she grew older because she was so shy and seemed to love spending more time reading than playing with other children. They started taking her to the inner-city pool in the summer, and she started interacting with the other children again, which made her parents very happy.
By the age of five, Michelle had developed a love of the water. Every summer, her parents would take her down the shore to see and play in the ocean. What the little girl did not know was that a single trip to the shore was all it was going to take to make her life hell.
In June of 2002, Anna, Jim, and Michelle were driving down the road in the dark of night. The loud ‘boom’ outside made the little girl curled up in the back of the car hold her ears and pull her legs to her chest. The road, which was a darker black than normal thanks to the deluge, seemed to be swerving along with the car. Anna tried to soothe her daughter from the front seat, speaking to her in a gentle voice. Jim struggled to keep control of the car as he continued to drive through the storm. Sadly, the car spun out of control and crashed, killing Jim and severely wounding Anna and Michelle. The only thing that she remembers is waking up in the hospital, hearing people mumble and feeling the staff prodding her to make sure that she was okay. As soon as she was approached by a figure in a white lab coat, she cried out for her mother and father. Her mother was able to come down to the pediatric floor after getting a cast on her leg. Michelle screamed and cried the entire time that the doctor was stitching the wound on her side shut, but that was nothing compared to what she did when she heard that her father had not survived the crash. The hospital staff had to sedate the young girl because she started screaming and beating her head against the bedrail.
Michelle could tell that her mother was lonely after her father died. After they buried Jim, Anna started seeing other men, which Michelle saw as an insult to her father. She understood that her mother wanted companionship and expected her to eventually want to move on. Of course, what the little girl did not know was that her mother had depended on her father financially, so she was not able to provide for Michelle like she should have. After a slew of rude and battering boyfriends, Anne finally met Aiden, who was a polite gentleman. He treated Michelle like a princess, always giving her candy and playing games with her, even if they were girl games like dress-up and tea party. Anna and Aiden spent nearly a year dating before they got engaged. By this point, Michelle was ten, and the death of her father was still clear in her mind, but, she could see that her mother was happy and, honestly, that was all that the growing child wanted. She saw that Aiden treated her mother well, unlike the other boyfriends she had met, and he was nice to her too, so he had to be a good person, right?
In the spring of 2007, Anna and Aiden were married. Aiden wanted to adopt Michelle formally, but she refused, wanting to keep her father’s last name. Anna insisted that Aiden leave her alone after the first few times of asking, since she knew that the death of her father had left the girl with both physical and mental scars. Michelle’s stepfather continued to treat her mother well, though; he started to treat Michelle a little different. It started out very small, with simple punishments like going to her room and missing dinner or grounding. In fact, Anna saw nothing wrong with the whole situation; she figured that Aiden was just trying to give Michelle structure and discipline. What she did not know, however, was that the girl had not really done anything wrong; Aiden had made up the situation. Of course, there were times when Michelle did talk back to her stepfather and she will agree to this day that she deserved her punishment; however, more often than not, the situations were made up. There were times that Michelle tried to tell her mother what was happening, but the girl’s mother refused to listen, claiming that Aiden was now her parent too and that he should “be able to punish you however he sees fit” if she did something wrong. The girl did have to admit one thing though; at least her stepfather was not hitting her. What she did not know was that horrid thought would one day become a reality, though it would be after a horrible tragedy.
In July of 2010, Anna was diagnosed with leukemia, which devastated both her daughter and husband. Michelle became very withdrawn and quiet during this period of time, which concerned her friends. They tried to convince her to go to her doctor and talk to him about it, but she refused. She knew that, if she went to the doctor, they would see the black and blue marks on her and start asking questions. In Anna’s absence, Aiden had starting hitting Michelle, blaming her for her mother’s illness. The thirteen-year-old did not want to be on the street, without a home, so she kept silent. Thankfully, her clothes covered the bruises, which became an odd discolored purple and yellow as they healed. There were a couple of times that Michelle considered running away, especially when Aiden drank. Those times were the ones where he nearly broke her ribs, one of her arms, or one of her legs. Of course, Anna had no idea what was going on. When Michelle and Aiden came to visit, Michelle would put makeup over her face and arms to cover the bruises. She begged her mother to get well so she could come home, though; she never told her that her stepfather was beating her. All she claimed was that she “missed her mother” and that she “wanted her back well.”
Sadly, by that August, Michelle’s mother passed, leaving the girl alone with her stepfather. Aiden claimed that they needed a fresh start, so they moved to a city called Hollowhill Grove. Since Anna was out of the picture, Aiden took it upon himself to do even more damage to Michelle, though he still made sure the bruises could be covered. Many people at Michelle’s high school noticed a huge change in the young woman after her mother died. She showed up to school one day with pink highlights, which was very unusual, considering that her hair color was brown; however, she did not seem to care. She tried to join nearly every school club to avoid having to go home, but that did not work. Aiden nearly dislocated her jaw one night and, the next day, she quit all of the clubs but one: the Art Club. Michelle, even now, admits that she is not a great artist, but watching people and landscapes while sketching them is soothing. At the time, it took her mind off of the pain and blemishes on her skin. The young woman thought that the beatings were where the violence would stop. After all, he always brought her candy and other small gifts after her hurt her, apologizing and promising not to do it again. What she did not know was that, not only would the violence continue, but it would evolve into something even more horrifying.
Aiden, before he married Anna, was a member of a small group of magicians in the city who practiced blood magic. Of course, he had stopped when he married Anna because he did not want her to be suspicious. By the time Michelle was sixteen, Aiden decided it was time to teach the young woman some spells, because it would help her protect herself. What Aiden was not aware of was that she had found blood magic spell books hidden around the house and had read them. The idea of using evil magic was terrifying and she vehemently refused to learn, shouting that it was twisted, wrong, and the work of the worst kind of evil. Aiden finally had enough of her protests and put a gun that he had purchased a while back to the back of her head. He threatened to kill her if she did not learn the spells that he had lined up for her. He also claimed he would stop hitting her if she was a “good girl” and did the spells correctly. Michelle was no dummy, but she was still naïve enough to believe that Aiden cared for her and that he would keep his word, even though, deep down, she knew he would not. So, she started to learn blood magic, starting out with a simple trap spell and eventually evolving to a limited control of another person’s body spell. Of course, she always had to be strapped down at the start of every session because she refused to cut herself. More often than not, Aiden sliced her palm open, though the blood from her hand eventually was not enough; so, he started cutting her arm instead.
By the time she was eighteen, Michelle started to feel different. She was more scared of everything than she was before. Not only that, but she also seemed to be losing her grip on reality. She started seeing images of her dead parents in the middle of class and it scared her. A few nights after her graduation, she came home to a drunk Aiden, who kicked her legs out from under her and started hitting her again and again and again. At this point, Michelle was under so much stress from the constant use of blood magic, the repeated beatings, and trying to get ready for college that she managed to get away from him and head to the kitchen. She grabbed a knife from the chopping block and started to giggle in a not-normal way. The giggling turned to a cackling as she approached her stepfather and it was not long until there were spatters of red along the wall. It was almost like Michelle was in some kind of crazed trance that made her more and more violent until her logical side took over again. She dropped the knife and ran out of the house in fear. She curled up in the alley behind the house, crying her eyes out and leaving blood smeared along the concrete block.
The next day, she hurried inside the house, washed the blood off of her hands and bleached the sink, praying that no one would be able to tell that she killed her stepfather. She tried to pose the frenzied attack like it was done by a werewolf, though she had to wash her hands and bleach the sink again. After that, she took her clothes in a trash bag and ran, crying all of the way. She spent the next few weeks wandering around the streets until she found an apartment complex. She begged the superintendent to let her stay, saying that she had “nowhere to go” and that she would “do anything” to be able to live there. The super was sympathetic and let her stay on one condition, that she work the front desk when he needed her to and that she would go to the local community college.
Other,
Michelle is right handed when it comes to many things, but she actually uses her left hand to sketch and draw.
RP Sample,
There was panic in her green eyes as she ran down the street with a black trash bag slung over her shoulder. She had to get away, she just had to. Everything in that house was red; there was blood everywhere and she had to get away from it. I don’t want to… It’s scary! She shook her head, trying to run faster and hoping that she did not have too much blood on her clothes. She could always say the blood belonged to her stepfather, who was attacked. Of course, there was truth in that statement; however, it was not the whole truth. She had attacked him. Michelle Belmont had killed a man, and she had no idea why. Deep down, a part of her was happy; after all, the abuse and long nights of draining her own blood were over. She still had to live with the fact that she killed him, though. She was not sure how she was going to sleep at night, but, her only goal at the moment was to get the hell away from that house. She would never return; there were far too many dark memories that would haunt her, much like the ghosts of her mother and father. She could only hope that they did not hate her for what she had done. She had not meant to kill Aiden; she only wanted him to shut up. But it felt so good, I just had to keep doing it…
Thankfully, it seemed like no one was out to see a young woman running around with a trash bag, covered in blood. Her muscles were starting to get sore, but she carried on, looking for some kind of hotel or abandoned house. Every hotel she stopped in turned her away because she had no money. All of the houses seemed to have people in them. She let out a sigh and decided to curl up in an alley for the night with her clothes. She prayed that no vampires would get to her as she laid her head on the thick, black plastic. She started to hum a soft lullaby that her mother used to sing to her when she was little. The thought of her mother made her eyes burn with tears, though she tried to make them go away. She heard something scratch against the concrete and she sat up immediately, whimpering and shrinking backwards. Her whole body seemed to tremble with fear as her back collided with something hard. Another wall. Now I’m really in trouble… She opened her mouth to speak and her voice also seemed to tremble as it came out in a desperate, yet soft request.
“P-please don’t hurt me…”
