Raven Black Hair • Steel Grey Eyes • 5'11" • 155 lbs
Appearance,
Standing at a height of around 5'11" and weighing in at 155 lbs, Solomon Knight is very solid for a person of his size. Besides the natural physical auspice which is granted to him as a Lycanthrope, Solomon is very physically active in his profession as a boxing instructor, which has resulted in much of his mass being made up of solid, well toned muscle. In general, his physique and build are relatively lean, which gives him a compact, whip-like look with his longer arms and legs. In terms of his facial features, they are strong and more triangular in general than rounded. He has a higher set and well defined jawline, with high cheekbones as well, though they are not as defined as his jaw. With clear, steel gray eyes and sharply contrasting raven black hair which reaches down to his neck in length, Solomon has a very intense look to him in general, and is quite attractive.
Solomon's personal style tends to vary depending on where he is and what he's doing. When at the gym where he works, he tends to wear simple, functional clothes like sweat pants and tank tops. Outside the gym, there are a few hallmarks to his style that he is almost always seen in. These include a long, black coat, and a black leather choker, which is a symbol for him of self-hatred for the curse he bears. Otherwise, his clothing in general is stylish but functional. His favorite colors when it comes to what he wears are black, silver/gray, blue and green. One thing that he *always* wears whether he's at the gym or out and about is the set of earrings which he has on his left ear. They are essentially two iron bands on the outer edge of the ear, one along the side and one on top. These are a souvenir which he took from the Lycan who turned him, and who he later hunted down and killed, and so he wears them at all times.

Spells and Abilities,
Partial Transformation - A Lycan with this ability has, at least in part, gained the ability to control the transformation from man to the bestial werewolf. Although they still do not have the ability to stop themselves from transforming into the raging beast under the full moon, they can manifest some of the werewolf's traits while still in their human form. Utilizing this skill allows the Lycan in question to summon the claws and fangs that they possess while transformed, and use them while still human. This gives them an edge in combat, allowing them to rip and tear through their enemies with ease. However, there are downsides to this ability. Firstly, the user suffers intense pain upon manifesting and retracting their claws and fangs. The pain on retraction of these parts increases based on how long they've been manifested. In addition, as the user keeps these parts manifested, the bestial part of them slowly begins to take over. They gradually lose their reasoning ability and sanity, and if the ability is kept on too long, they can lose their human mentality completely. This puts not only their allies in danger, but themselves, as they do not have the size and additionally enhanced traits afforded to them by a full transformation.
Mental Fortress - In general, most Lycans do not have especially strong willpower of their own. This is because their minds are constantly split in two, divided between their human and bestial side. This makes them more vulnerable in general to suggestion and skills which involve persuasion, psychic domination, and the like. However, Lycans with this ability can in fact use their divided mental state as a defense against skills of this type. A Lycan using mental fortress can actually shield their human mind with the raw impulse and emotion present in their bestial half. In a contest of wills or when fighting against psychic abilities of any kind, they are able to overwhelm their opponent with sheer force, locking down their minds and preventing their enemy from getting a foothold. However, a Lycan must be very careful in making sure that they quickly overwhelm their enemy and break free, for the longer this ability is used, the more their bestial nature comes to the fore. If used carelessly or for too long of an extended period, they can lose grip on their sanity, causing them to go berserk.
Eye of the Hunter - This is an ability which is used to augment the natural hunting ability that all of the Lycanthrope race posses. Upon activation of this skill, the Lycan in question gains thermal vision, as well as the ability to see signs left recently by prey. These signs include hand and footprints, as well as olfactory trails, which allows them to visually follow scents which may have become too faint to detect via smell. This skill can remain active as long as the Lycan in question desires, but does have a downfall. Upon deactivation of the skill, all of his or her senses are weakened; reduced to normal human levels, which is quite a drop. The only sense remaining at a super natural level is smell. The length of this weakening of the senses is dependent on how long the skill was active. As a side note, in Solomon's case, the use of this ability causes his normally grey eyes to flash temporarily into an amber gold color as long as the skill is active

Personality,
Solomon's personality is largely based around both his hatred for himself and Lycan-kind in general, and around his dedication to protecting the world from his own, very blood thirsty people. In general he is quiet, withdrawn, and not quick to interact or be social when it comes to his dealings with other people. He prefers to keep them at a distance, and for good reason. Not only is he afraid of hurting them himself, his presence tends to attract other Lycans. As a result he tries to keep to himself to prevent others from being caught in any kind of crossfire. For anyone close long enough to get a read on him, it would quickly become clear that he is cynical, sarcastic, and generally very confident in his skills and abilities, although this comes from his training more than it does from hubris. While perhaps not the most learned when it comes to book-smarts, Solomon is actually quite wise, and very street smart when it comes to dealing with people and various situations.
Solomon is generally a very serious person, especially when it comes to his "duties" regarding other Lycanthropes. He takes himself very seriously as well, and thus pushes himself to perform at 100% no matter what he is doing. This can cause him to be harsh to himself, and come of as a bit of a taskmaster at times when dealing with others. In truth, his serious nature is his way of dealing with his situation. He prefers to lock his emotions down and focus on the matter at hand, which gives him an almost laser-guided focus, specifically when it comes to achieving his goals or in combat or conflict. He can be joking, even lighthearted at times, but it takes getting him to relax, which is by no means an easy feat. At the end of the day, Solomon's philosophy is as follows: "Stay the hell away from me and let me do my job. You'll live longer, I'll live longer, and supernaturals die faster. Everybody wins."
In conflict or combat, Solomon is a force to be reckoned with. His serious and laser-focused personality makes him difficult to distract or throw off balance, which means that he tends to stay cool and collected under most circumstances. By separating his emotions from his view of the world, he is able to be calculating and precise where some others might be less so. The only time this is perhaps not true is when he is fighting his own kind. When fighting Lycanthropes, he tends to get a bit carried away, washed away in his own hatred and anger. This can cause him to become dangerously destructive and sometimes even sloppy, which in turn can cause him to get hurt. In most circumstances however, his boxing training and personality make him equipped to handle conflict. He is also very detail oriented and has much more common sense than people realize, which makes him quite capable and, sometimes, unpredictable.
History,
Born to Alexander and Marilyn Knight on July 20, 1989, Solomon's early life was, for the most part, simple and relatively normal. The couple's only child, he and his small family lived in the suburbs just outside of Chicago, Illinois, which made for a largely peaceful environment in which to grow up. Solomon's mother, sadly, was never a large part of his life. She was nurse, working for one of the larger hospitals in Chicago, and as a result she was hardly ever around, working long hours both day and night. When Solomon was just 9 years old in fact, his mother contracted cancer and died soon after, leaving Alexander as Solomon's only caretaker. His father was most definitely the driving influence in his life. A retired boxer, most of his, and therefore Solomon's time was spent in the big city, where Alex owned a small gym. This, even more than his own home, is where Solomon grew up.
In school, he was largely invisible. Academically he was average, and the loss of his mother at such an early age resulted in him having some trouble developing social skills, which of course also resulted in a lack of friends. He felt in fact that he learned more at his father's gym than he did in school. Early on, around the age of 10, he discovered his aptitude for physical activity. He was naturally well coordinated and stronger than other children his age, and so he thrived in an environment where he was able to use those skills. His father was a very old fashioned man, all about honor and dedication; and so it was there at the gym that Solomon learned the most about persistence, commitment and hard-work, and it was there that he went when he was down or afraid. Of course, being in this environment quickly hardened Solomon into a tougher, more reckless teenager, which caused him to get into fights at school as he entered middle school. It only took him getting beaten up one time at school for his father to decide that the time had come for his son to learn how to box.
It didn't take long at all to recognize that Solomon shared his father's natural talent for the sport. He learned fast, and before long the fighting at school stopped. After all, people are a lot less likely to challenge someone with a right hook like a sledgehammer. As good as he became however, he could never best his father with a spar. As his school life continued as normal, Solomon began to train more and more when not at school or studying, determined to become strong enough to beat his father. This, eventually, spilled over into his school life as well. Before long, the coaches started to notice his talent and physical condition, which prompted them to include him in sports. This helped to develop the more level, disciplined personality which he possesses today, as originally he was incredibly cocky and unfocused. By his last year of high school, he had in fact achieved quite a bit of popularity, and a much more stable mental state, though his mother remained ever a sore spot for him.
At 18, Solomon finally bested his father in a spar, and decided that boxing was to be his calling. With his father's support, he joined an amateur boxing league, where he quickly rose through the ranks. The next 4 years consisted of fight after fight, training upon training, until by the age of 22, Solomon had made to the professional stage, and was well on his way to following in his father's footsteps as a champion. Sadly however, fate was not on his side. It was 2010, and Solomon had been living on his own for some time. That night, his father had been absent at one of his fights for the first time in Solomon's entire career. The fight had been grueling, but rather than go home, he decided to drop by the gym, where his father had been spending most of his time of late. Had he arrived perhaps an hour earlier, he would himself have shared his father's fate. Had he gone home instead, none of the following events would have conspired. Call it luck. Or extreme lack thereof.
It was deadly silent as Solomon entered the gym, which was sign number one that something was wrong. Sign number two was the lights being turned off. His father had taken to staying at the gym overnight in those days, and as a result the lights were almost always on, the sound of exercise music or fists hitting a punching bag almost always audible. Instead all that Solomon was met with nothing but silence, and long shadows stretching across what seemed like an empty building. As he made his way towards the shower room, he heard a noise. It sounded like...a wet smacking; occurring over and over again, almost rhythmically. Not sure what the noise was or if his father might have been hurt, he rushed into the shower. What he found would change his life forever. Unbeknownst to him, a man had appeared at the gym earlier, asking for shelter. He had seemed down on his luck, perhaps even homeless, and being the kind at heart and honorable person his father was, he had offered him a place to stay for the night. How could he have known? How could he have known it was a trap?
The man had in fact been a Lycan; at the time, a creature thought only to exist in nightmares and fairy tales. That of course, was hardly the case, and the man had been looking for not shelter, but his next meal. That night had been a full moon, the night of the change and so the Lycan, a male by the name of Lucian Bale, had done so and brutally murdered his father. What Solomon walked in on was the...creature...feasting on what was left of his father's body. In a rage he rushed Lucian, who of course easily batted him aside, his claws tearing three large gashes in his chest. The world swayed before him, but Solomon tried to remain conscious. He would not be beaten so easily. Unfortunately the swaying was but the beginning of his worries. Pain like wildfire started to spread throughout his limbs, the white hot intensity of it driving him into convulsions on the ground. He screamed, louder than he had ever screamed in his life, the world turning to spots and bars of color before going completely black.
The next 12 hours Solomon remembers in a blur. The sounds of terrified screaming filled his ears. First his own, then others...though to this day he can not remember their faces, or their names. Then the pain, tearing through his body the entire time. He recalls the taste of blood filling his mouth, his teeth, strangely sharp and terrible, ripping through flesh and bone. His next real memory starts 24 hours later. Some how he had made his way back to the suburbs, broken his way into his old home and passed out on his floor. He knew something was wrong when the metallic tang of blood and the sickly sweet taste of human flesh still clung to his mouth. He stumbled out in a blind panic, still blinded by lingering pain and the horror of what he was experiencing, only to be struck by a passing car and sent rolling down the street. Of course he was incredibly surprised when not a scratch nor a bruise was on him, as was the driver, who attempted to call the police for medical help. Sensing that would not end well, he fled, heading away from the big city as fast as he possibly could.
He spent the next few weeks coping with his new...condition. He was much stronger and faster; his body more durable and his sense incredibly attuned. He was also hungry...always hungry. He had enough money to take care of himself, but that was not his major concern. He had to stay undercover. He was almost certain that he had committed at best several murders on that fateful night, and he doubted the police would accept "but officer I don't remember" as an excuse. His dreams were filled with his father, the wolf-like beast hulking over him, and another beast of the same kind...with midnight black fur covering it's body...and silver eyes. He knew it was he himself. As he stayed on the move, he began to do research on his condition wherever and whenever he could, and soon discovered his affliction. Lycanthropy. Not only had the bastard stolen the last family he had left...he had had changed him into a monster himself. But, perhaps there was hope. Some of the books he found read that if he could find the Lycan who had turned him and killed that one, he might return to normal. When he found himself venturing further and further away from society and towards forests and less civilized locales, he realized what was happening. He was being drawn towards his...creator. He knew this for sure when his dreams began to change, the beast standing over his father slowly looking more and more human...features and the like starting to take shape.
When he finally found Lucian Bale, Solomon was 23 years old. In the forests near a small town somewhere in Indiana, he found a small, seemingly abandoned shack, where he took shelter for the night. Imagine his surprise to find the very man he sought lurking in the shadows of the abandoned place. He threw himself at the bastard, but after a short struggle was quickly overpowered, disabled, and pinned; Lucian's experience beating out his anger and strength. When the man let him up rather than striking the final blow, Solomon was surprised. Surprised enough in fact to give the man time to explain some about what had taken place. He was his "bearer" the one who had "given him life" as a Lycan, and thus that was what had drawn Solomon to him. He couldn't believe what he was hearing. This was supposed to be some kind of honor? Some kind of gift? A blessing? What he knew was that this man...this beast...had taken the last family he had ever known, and turned he himself into a murderer. He wanted nothing to do with Lycan-kind or their culture. But he knew the man was stronger than he was. More experienced. So he faked agreement with the man's explanation, claiming that it was an honor to be given such a gift. That night, as the man slept, he attacked him unawares and managed to kill him, snapping his neck with his bare hands. As he stood over his "bearer's" broken body, he decided. If he was going to be a killer, a murderer, then he would at the very least direct his power in the right way. He would wipe out Lycan-kind. He would destroy the monsters that had taken his family and his life; had taken the families and lives of countless others over the generations. He bent down, took the iron set of earrings around adorning Lucian's ear, left the shack and never looked back.
The next three years were spent doing just that. He quickly discovered his own unique gifts as a Lycan: his resilience to even some of those of his kind considered to be Alphas and their influence, his power to call on some of his transformation without the full moon, and his preternatural hunting and tracking abilities. He returned to travelling alone, tracking down Lycans wherever he could find them and taking them down, and hiding himself when the full moon came to protect humanity from himself. In 2013, when the Veil dropped and supernaturals were revealed to the world for what they truly were, Solomon was one of the first to voluntarily give himself up to be sent to Hollowhill Grove. There at least, most of humanity would be safe from him. And more importantly, more Lycans would make their ways there. And when they did...they would find themselves faced with a force to be reckoned with: a Kinslayer.
