Strolling casually through the back allies of the city Bridget no longer felt the small amount of fear that once hang over her head. After all, what was there to be afraid of anymore when you were placed onto equal standings of the supernaturals that flooded the town? Well, of course those stronger and more skilled but the feisty pink haired woman hardly thought about that. At times that caused more trouble than it was worth but carrying an air of confidence around you usually kept things that go bump in the night away, even if just for a little while.
That short amount of time was all she needed as she covered the short distance from her apartment to her work place. A small bar that offered a drink to anyone who happened to wander by. It wasn’t that largest or fanciest around but it had a certain charm to it that usually kept it full at night. That charm tended to attract everyone kind of being in town. From light weight, fruity drink wannabees that gossip in the corner to badasses in wicked leather jackets to your average Joe hoping to drink his sorrows away. Basically, your normal mixing pot filled with mixed species instead of races. That was a bit of a change when she first settled in this new city but she had come to love it.
Reaching the bar she slipped in the back without a sound, going through the familiar motions of clocking in and taking over with ease. She had been here a few years now, steady income with a pleasant boost from tips. Enough to keep her simple life style going fairly well anyway. A roof over her head and clothes on her back were really all she needed. That and a spot of blood every once in a while. However, being fully fed before every shift she had tended to make not tearing the customers's throats out a tad bit easier. The young vampire was still learning after all. Having a her boss teach her some methods of control also helped as well. After all, he couldn't lose his prized bartender after a little accident now could he?
So, she sat back a bit and began her usual rounds of pouring and mixing drinks without a problem. Once she got settled in and all drinks filled she sat back, electric eyes combing over the bar. Seemed there might be an angry bunch over in the corner, someone needing to be cut off after this drink along the left wall but otherwise no entertainment. Sighing she started cleaning some glasses, calming down for another boring evening. Only a few minutes after she finished shining the cups did she hear the small ding over the door sound. Curiously she glanced over, Bridget already knew most of her usuals were in their places so who was finally showing up or did a newbie blow in with the wind? At any rate she called over, "What can I do for ya?"

Avila had been scouting, she was curious about the place around her. She hadn't really been outside all too often, and tonight she decided to go out and explore the place. She moved through the shadows of the streets, having decided to have her bar closed that night since she would not be there. She needed a bartender so that she could start getting the business more busy, she herself had very limited training on the subject and had never been interested in it. To be honest, she had only started the business in order to continue living comfortably, her cash she pulled from her few years as a professional violinist having been drained finally. It was a start, but a small little bar, something she only had open at night in order to keep herself comfortable, not really needing or wanting any more. She popped a lollipop that she had grabbed as she left her store into her mouth, strolling casually through the dark streets. Was it childish? Sure, but it was sweet, and she was a sucker for her sweets.
She spotted a bar she hadn't noticed before, then again the last time she had gone out and about just for the hell of it was a few years ago and she couldn't be bothered to remember all the shops that had moved in. She was an observer of people, not an observer of business, though she should probably start looking at the business practices. She was running a business now, poorly but she was. She needed to learn more about how to run it, but first thing was first, she wanted a drink. She hadn't had alcohol in a few months and she wanted some, she didn't need any blood at least, her thirst was sated for now.
She slipped into the shop, wincing as the bell rang, having not expected it at all. She preferred a more discreet entrance, it made her nervous to have anyone know she was there. She was jumpy, she had been attacked by werewolves three times in the past twenty years, and she hated every encounter. She knew she was supposed to be stronger than she was, but she was missing the majority of her memories, so until she started recalling these she was nervous around everyone. She slipped tot he side, trying to get out of sight before someone spoke up, causing her to turn and blink at the voice. Maybe that's what her issue was, she wasn't friendly enough with others to draw in business. She sighed a little before offering a smile, walking over and leaning against the counter, instinctively keeping an eye on her peripherals.
"Do you have any țuica?" she asked curiously, tilting her head a bit as she looked over the girl carefully, taking in her features. The most notable things about her were her hair and pale skin, which normally meant she was either a vampire or just didn't get much sun, Avila's money being on the later, not wanting to believe that she could be a possible vampire like herself.

Taking a quick peak over to the newbie, Bridget found herself taking a moment to prolong the glance. The bartender had seen a lot of people roam in and out of that door through the year. Some more pleasant than others, some needing a lift out of a bad day and others just looking for a good time. This girl however, didn’t look like any of the above. If anything, the girl looked nearly curious. Maybe she wandered in as an experiment. Which was odd considering most people tended to pass over this hole in the wall if they weren’t told about it.
These thoughts all managed to squeeze their way in and out of her head in the moment of a ten second look at the dark haired woman who entered before she had her attention drawn away. Finishing up a drink for another customer she placed the drink down on the opposite side of the bar before coming back up to the newbie. “Tuica?” Bridget questioned, raising an eyebrow as she wiped her slick hands on a nearby towel. “If you give me a second I can check for you,” She offered with a friendly smile that always made its way onto her face when she was dealing with a pleasant customer.
Within the minute she was looking at other seconds of the bar looking for anything that might peak the girl’s interest. It just so happened they did have a bottle or two, standing up she brought the bottle back and poured a glace. Setting it down on the counter, Bridget glanced around checking the bar before settling into a stance in front of the overly pale girl in front of her. Shifting her weight to one foot she took another moment to take in the contrast of her pale skin and dark hair, something that looked oddly vampiric. “Welcome to our little hole in the wall, I’m Bridget.” She offered another grin, “You look new, have you been here before?” Best to get the ball rolling somehow.

Avila relaxed a slight bit, sitting on a stool, though kept her wits about her. She was never sure just when she would need to jump into action of any kind, be it combative or to get out of there as quickly as possible to avoid combat. She glanced around the place, noting the way things were set up. A few things she had yet to invest in, a few others that she had but the orders hadn't arrived yet. She absentmindedly thought about this for a moment before her attention was called back over when she heard the girl return, a bottle of țuica in hand. She had to admit, she was a little surprised that they even had the Romanian spirit. Not many places thought to carry the more exotic forms of alcohol. She nodded her thanks before taking the shot, sighing in content as she felt the familiar burn of alcohol move down her throat. She took a moment, enjoying the sensation before looking back to Bridget, as she had called herself.
"It's less of a hole in the wall then my place, at least you have a decent number of customers. Name's Avila." she stated smoothly, giving the girl another once over. Even if she was a vampire the girl would be a fairly young one, she herself knew the names of most of the older vampires who had been there. "Yeah, I guess I'm new to this specific place, I don't leave my place often. There isn't really much outside of my little corner of the hell hole that is this city that interests me, just decided to head out today." She spun the glass in her hand absentmindedly as she looked around the bar again. Pool tables, maybe that's what she should get next. They seemed to attract a lot of people looking for casual conversation.
She thought on this a moment, sighing a bit before turning back around, tired of being stuck in that little town. She was used to traveling, playing the violin. It was weird not being on the road as a performer anymore. She looked at the empty glass in her hand, wondering just why things had to end the way they had. ten years of concerts then suddenly she was stuck in this god forsaken city. She set the glass down and looked back at the bartender, wondering what she was in the city for. It was unlikely that she was just there as a human, for not that many humans were just there. Most she had seen moved out quickly as long as they weren't magical. "So why are you in this city? Most humans just left shortly after they established that they wanted all non-humans moved here."

Glancing around the place Bridget snorted, “Yeah, a huge crowd flows in and out of here.” A bit of sarcasm slipping into her voice before continuing. “You should check out some of the bigger clubs in town. Those places get hopping.” Shaking her head lightly she couldn’t help the smile as she continued to clean up a bit while speaking to the girl who named herself Avila. “Nice to meet you, Avila.” She said, brightening the smile a bit as she looked to the dark haired woman across from her. After all, it always paid off to be nice to the customers.
Rocking back on her heels, Bridget raised an eyebrow. She had already put together that Avila owned some sort of shop, most likely a bar. Yet, she wondered where in the city it was. Most places got some level of traffic. Granit, some more than others but it couldn’t have been doing good fanatically wise if it was getting much less than this little place. “I’ll give you that, some places aren’t that interesting. What the city offers isn’t for everyone. Where’d you say your place was again?” She slyly slipped in the question at the end before bending her head again, cleaning the last of the cups.
Only a moment later she watched as Avila turned around, taking that time Bridget refilled a few drinks around the bar. Her movements were as graceful as her genes allowed, but not nearly as fast. Coming back around she slipped her thumbs into the pockets of her shorts, sitting back on her heels once again. “Well, when I came here I was trying to avoid someone and new this would be the best place to hide. Turns out it wasn’t as safe as I thought and now, well I guess you could say that I belong her.” Bridget flashed a grin, the message in between her words was clear as the daylight she couldn’t stand.
