DANTE RICCI
18 • JULY 26th • MALE • LYCANTHROPE • MUSICIAN
BROWN HAIR • BLUE EYES • 6 FOOT • 170lbs
Appearance,
Dante has a well-toned body standing at six foot even. He’s not a body builder but he makes sure to keep fit and healthy. He’s known to be seen working out and most definitely long runs. His skin is lightly tanned. He has a charming smile soft and always full of emotion. His thin upper lip compliments his fuller bottom lip with a soft, dark red color. His chin is often layered with a small amount of stubble as he often forgets to shave and simply doesn’t care to keep on top of it to have a clean shave 24/7. When grown out his hair is a lighter shade of brown with varying highlights streaking through it. It falls about ear length and bangs just to his eyebrows. His eyes are usually what catches people’s attention. When he’s in a good mood or an average day are a light shade of blue that tends to pop with joy. When he’s upset or angry they turn closer to a grey blue leaning more towards grey depending on how strongly he feels, stormy is often what people describe them as.
Dante keeps it fairly casual most of the time. He prefers simple styles and for some reason flannel shirts. His shirts are almost always long sleeves, tight or loose, even in the summer. He picked up a habit of rubbing his fingers over the fabric of his sleeves before playing. His pants are usually torn up, old jeans. He kicks around in the same old pair of pants all the time. Even though it can give him a rougher look he just likes them and can pull them off just as well as the first day he got them. As for shoes its more often than not just a light pair of sneakers.

Spells and Abilities,
Partial Transformation - A Lycan with this ability has, at least in part, gained the ability to control the transformation from man to the bestial werewolf. Although they still do not have the ability to stop themselves from transforming into the raging beast under the full moon, they can manifest some of the werewolf's traits while still in their human form. Utilizing this skill allows the Lycan in question to summon the claws and fangs that they possess while transformed, and use them while still human. This gives them an edge in combat, allowing them to rip and tear through their enemies with ease. However, there are downsides to this ability. Firstly, the user suffers intense pain upon manifesting and retracting their claws and fangs. The pain on retraction of these parts increases based on how long they've been manifested. In addition, as the user keeps these parts manifested, the bestial part of them slowly begins to take over. They gradually lose their reasoning ability and sanity, and if the ability is kept on too long, they can lose their human mentality completely. This puts not only their allies in danger, but themselves, as they do not have the size and additionally enhanced traits afforded to them by a full transformation.
Fearsome Howl - This skill allows a Lycan to use his or her howl as a weapon. This particular skill is useable both while human and while transformed into Lupine form, but is far more effective when used in the latter. The user emits a powerful howl, loud enough to be heard from some distance away. When used in human form, the howl causes disorientation and a feeling of fear and anxiety, which can be used to disarm opponents or distract them long enough to initiate an attack. When used in Lupine form, this howl is sufficient to inflict panic in most targets, causing them to flee in fear or be rendered paralyzed. This ability typically does not work on vampires, most of whom possess an extraodinarily powerful will. Overuse of this ability causes fatigue and weakness, as well as vocal cord paralysis. In Lupine form it can drain the Lycan's strength quickly, causing them to revert back to human form prematurely.
Mental Fortress - In general, most Lycans do not have especially strong willpower of their own. This is because their minds are constantly split in two, divided between their human and bestial side. This makes them more vulnerable in general to suggestion and skills which involve persuasion, psychic domination, and the like. However, Lycans with this ability can in fact use their divided mental state as a defense against skills of this type. A Lycan using mental fortress can actually shield their human mind with the raw impulse and emotion present in their bestial half. In a contest of wills or when fighting against psychic abilities of any kind, they are able to overwhelm their opponent with sheer force, locking down their minds and preventing their enemy from getting a foothold. However, a Lycan must be very careful in making sure that they quickly overwhelm their enemy and break free, for the longer this ability is used, the more their bestial nature comes to the fore. If used carelessly or for too long of an extended period, they can lose grip on their sanity, causing them to go berserk.

Personality,
Dante lives, breathes, and sleeps music. It’s part of his very soul in every way possible. The boy is constantly humming to himself or jotting down lyrics on anything he has whether that be his hand or a napkin or a scrap of paper. He has a talent for the guitar and piano though above all he loves to sing. He also happens to carry around a harmonica wherever he goes. On that note he’s very passionate about how songs are sung and the lyrics written. AKA he doesn’t like pointless songs that only play the chorus over and over. He’ll easy start ranting how it isn’t real music but otherwise he’s open to any type of music, classical or folk it doesn’t matter.
Before he changed he had only a slight temper, mostly when it came to his family and close friends. Especially Ara, since he’s so close to his little sister and worries about her quite often. However, since his change that anger has spiked rather quickly and can often be fuel by simple things. He tries to fight against it but finds it extremely hard. He also has a very strong base urge of protection. He’s extremely protective and can lose his calm if they’re in danger, very upset, ect in a flash. Simply don’t understate him because he will get violent if the situation calls for it. Otherwise he’s usually pretty laid back and calm guy ready to have some fun if you are when he can keep that part of him under control.
Still, one of his core personality traits that still shines through is that he’s a happy guy. He’s definitely a group person where he’s willing to talk too just about anyone. He’s open and friendly, an all-around good guy as some describe him. He’ll try to cheer you up if you’re down, help you out if it’s needed or anything to that effect. He’s also very loyal, another trait that has strengthened since his transformation, to the friends he makes which he tries for everyone he meets. He absolutely loves meeting new people, seeing new things, and trying just about anything. He’s adventurous at heart even if other aspects of his personality out shine that at times.
One of those aspects would be his new found self-loathing. He absolutely hates that he was turned into a Lycanthrope. He simply wanted to continue on a happy life with his sister, learning the magic he once could control but when that plan was flipped upside down he didn’t deal with it well. He becomes very uncomfortable when someone speaks about his Lycan side or mentions them in general. He’d prefer to forget the whole thing but of course he can’t. The loathing bit comes in when he remembers the events that took place the very first night he turned. He can’t move past them and will always regret it and fear that it will happen again.
History,
Some people believe the life of a middle child is often a forgotten one. Well this was not in the slightest the case for Dante. He was born the first, and only, son after his elder sister and soon to be followed by his younger sister. His father and mother were very pleased to be blessed with a baby boy and loved them all equally. In his early years he would attempt to walk, then run around the house after his sisters having a ball in their small village. They had many adventures and stories to share springing straight from the imagination.
It was around the age of five they discovered his love of music. His parents jumped at the chance for him to have a talent and got him into some small lessons. The child took to it right away. As he grew older it seemed he always had an instrument in hand and was singing along with Ara. Making small shows to perform for his family was a joy of his that he will never forget. So many good memories in such a small town and each so very important to the young boy. Yet the happiness that he held in his heart wouldn’t last forever. There was a dark night coming to the Ricci house hold, one that would haunt him forever.
Lia and Ara stormed into his room waking him. Throw his still sleep filled eyes he registered the smell of smoke as his eyes started to burn. Without hesitation he jumped out of bed and followed his sisters downstairs. He attempted to keep Ara with him, trying to protect his sister, while Lia rushed away to save their parents. But his youngest sister being as impossible as always he couldn’t keep her by his side and away from the growing flames within the home. He stood helpless as his sister darted back in clinging to Lia as their parents arrived. Finally a feeling of security flooded him as he looked up at his father’s face.
It wouldn’t last. There was a rumbling in the house before a large splintering sound gave a hint that something was wrong. He screamed for his family but was paralyzed with fear unable to move, he wasn’t able to help them. He watched as a beam from the ceiling fell, pinning his three family members to the floor. As they screamed in pain it finally snapped him out of it. With adrenaline pumping through his veins he shoved Ara quite forcefully out of the way and to safety. Later that night the Ricci siblings were found clinging to each other in front of the remains of their family home.
They stuck together over the years, hoping from home to home. As soon as Dante could he took custody of his sister completely and settled down in a small apartment. Of course, it was on the small side and wasn’t in the best area but it was home for a few weeks. He then got information on Hollowhill Grove. Jumping at the chance for a fresh start he dragged Ara and his best friend there to start a new life. He got together a small band and a nice little apartment for them. For a while, everything seemed like it was finally working out and they could call settle down for good. That couldn’t last long.
After a few months of living there was a burglary. Dante went downstairs, telling Ara to stay upstairs and encountered the thief. It turned violent rather quickly and they were all over the place but the man was unusually strong. That’s when Dante knew he had to be some kind of supernatural instead of a witch like himself. Panicing that the man would go after Ara and she’d stand no chance he fough even harder. At some point in the struggle the man accidently bit Dante. When that happened Dante dropped, starting to become twisted in a painful transformation. He had been bitten by a lycanthrope.
Dante rushed out of the house in a beastly haze. He was hungry and he wanted flesh. Well, he found it. A woman out for a late night jog not too far away became his first victim. Before she knew what was happening he tore into her arm, shredding it and providing some very deep wounds along her side. Thankfully, someone came around who knocked him out. A vampire bashing his head pretty damn hard when he wasn’t paying attention. Since then he’s been paying off the woman’s hospital bills and become so shamed of what he has become. Now he’s simply trying to get this new werewolf side of himself under control.
Other,
Erm, yep. Nope.
