18 (LOOKS 20) • AUGUST 25 1998 • FEMALE • LYCAN • N/A • STUDENT

LIGHT BLUE Hair • AMBER Eyes • 5'6 • 133
Appearance,
The first thing people notice about Carter is her hair. Light blue in color, it's thick, falling to her middle back. Why blue? Because it's her favorite color. When its not loose she prefers to braid it or put it up in a bun to keep it out of her way, albeit a messy one. Her eyes are an amber color and shift shades depending on her mood, tiny gold flecks being known to show up when she's happy or excited. Her skin is pale, tanning pretty much an impossibility for her. She just fries in the sun and when it peels she's just as pale as before.
She stands at an average height, 5'6 to be exact, her legs making up most of her height. She's curvy but still slender and lithe, possessing large amounts of agility and flexibility party due to genetics and the rest due to taking gymnastics as a kid. She's a bit petite, her body not really showing her muscles since they're more toned than bulky.
Her scars are numerous, though some are only visible when she's especially pale. Most of these are scattered across the backs of her knuckles, hands and fingers. These she's had so long she doesn't remember how she got them, something she doesn't like since she has a story for every other scar. Scars overlap on her knees, layered over the tops of each other while yet more are scattered from the knee down -where most of her scars are- to even her toes.

Spells and Abilities,
Alpha Dominance: Level I - This is essentially the ability to forcibly assert dominance over other Lycans. At this low level however, this skill only causes a feeling of trust and a sort of innate bond between the Lycan using it and the one they use it on, can only be used on one other Lycan at a time, and is not permanent, lasting only as long as long as the Lycan using the skill is physically present. Through the use of this skill however, it is easier to work as a team and coordinate, even creating a sort of mental link between the user and the bonded Lycan. With development, further levels of this power can be gained, moving the Lycan in question towards being able to form permanent bonds with multiple Lycans and eventually lead a pack of his or her own.
Clarity - Under normal circumstances, when a Lycan transforms into their Lupine form they lose their human side, meaning that they also lose their reasoning ability and much of their intelligence. Lycans with this ability can, for a short time, delay this complete loss of reason. For the first thirty minutes of their Lupine transformation under the full moon, he or she is able to retain their human mind. This allows them to hold on to their reasoning and thinking ability, making them far more dangerous while transformed during this period. This is a passive skill, which activates immediately upon each of a Lycan's forced transformations into Lycan form. As a downside, Lycans with this skill suffer from a condition known as "shift coma." This causes them to enter a temporary comatose state upon the end of their transformation as their body shifts back to human, due to the strain put upon their mind from resisting their bestial instincts for this extended period.
Mental Fortress - In general, most Lycans do not have especially strong willpower of their own. This is because their minds are constantly split in two, divided between their human and bestial side. This makes them more vulnerable in general to suggestion and skills which involve persuasion, psychic domination, and the like. However, Lycans with this ability can in fact use their divided mental state as a defense against skills of this type. A Lycan using mental fortress can actually shield their human mind with the raw impulse and emotion present in their bestial half. In a contest of wills or when fighting against psychic abilities of any kind, they are able to overwhelm their opponent with sheer force, locking down their minds and preventing their enemy from getting a foothold. However, a Lycan must be very careful in making sure that they quickly overwhelm their enemy and break free, for the longer this ability is used, the more their bestial nature comes to the fore. If used carelessly or for too long of an extended period, they can lose grip on their sanity, causing them to go berserk.

Personality,
Warning: all authority figures, teachers, people with offices, do not leave this girl alone! Seriously, unless you want to come back to find the matchstick army of the paper kingdom currently occupying what was once your desk space taking over your office, keep an eye -or three- on her. Well, you say, just don't keep any matches in your office and problem solved. No. Even if you hide and/or get rid of any matches that may or may not be in your office, it won't do any good because she carries matchbooks around with her. Why? Because you never know when you need a match or two and to build things when bored. And she's a closet pyro.
Anyways, as you might have guessed Carter is easily bored. Its not because she gets distracted -which she does, though its more of a "this isn't interesting let's do something else" kind of a thing- its just that she's a smart little cookie and needs near constant stimulation. Leave her alone for five minutes and she's either reading, trying to construct something, or daydreaming elaborate scenes or characters or even worlds to go in either her current story or her next one. Though she may not seem to like school very much or even downright hate some of her classes, she loves to learn. Anything, everything, it doesn't really matter as long as its knowledge and she's even a modicum interested. She's been known to read textbooks for fun. To quote her: "I don't mind school. I mind homework." Because of this hunger for all things under the sun, she has become a walking dictionary, thesaurus and encyclopedia. Need to know how to spell something? Ask Carter. Need to know which empire did what to who? Carter knows. Anything dinosaur, mythology or animal related? Carter's your girl!
A smart ass is defined as: someone who is sarcastic, in a cutting yet witty matter. A person capable of making a remark that could be interpreted as an insult or a joke depending on the sensitivity of the listener and the specific situation. A smart ass is not necessarily a bad person, just usually perceptive. This describes Carter to a 'T'. Endowed with rhino-thick skin, she expects to get as good as she gives and always has a shrug and a comeback when someone tries to insult her. In fact she often laughs when someone tries to pick on her. Armed with a barbed tongue she's always full of sarcasm just waiting to be used and wit just waiting to bite. This isn't to say she can't do normal jokes, but she's much better at teasing. She's only mean about it when she thinks the target deserves it and routinely makes fun of herself as much if not more than she does others. Despite her joker status she knows when to be serious/keep her mouth shut though this sometimes doesn't work all too well because sarcasm and comedy have become both her coping mechanisms as well as her defense mechanisms.
Carter is a very friendly and outgoing individual, adventurous and a bit of an adrenalin junkie. She is willing to be friends with just about anyone and has guts to go up and strike a conversation with a complete stranger. She is fiercely loyal to those friends to a fault, no almost about it. She regards her better friends as family; sisters and brothers she'd do anything for. She can be overprotective at times, a 'bulldog' as she calls it, but she can't really help it. She's the kind of girl who'll shrug off any attempts to mess with her, not really caring though some measure of vengeance is always an option and usually took, but who'll go for the jugular if anyone tries anything with her friends and loved ones. She's a protector by nature, so you can be sure anyone placed in her care or under her protection will be safe, even if Carter isn't particularly fond of her charge. This is because she sees friends and people she's responsible for as hers, so if an enemy is 'given' to her, they are now hers and therefor she'll protect them as she does all her friends. Albeit begrudgingly.
She has patience, really she does, an iron will and depending on the situation ridiculously strong self control. She doesn't like some emotions and will ignore them, pretend they aren't there, and can 'shut off' her emotions at will, again depending on the situation. She is reckless, a risk taker when any negative consequences will only affect her, and impulsive. She rarely thinks before she acts or speaks and this combined with her sarcasm can land her in some pretty hot water. Its a well documented fact that she'll give up things to win a bet or just to prove a point, and she happens to be quite savvy when it comes to scheming and conning. Not all out, mind you, she's not a conwoman, but she won't pass up the chance to make some easy money.
Carter has a strong sense of empathy. She has kind of a sixth sense for those things, able to detect a person's mood or whether they're not acting like they usually do. Even if they look and act like they're happy, she can usually tell if they're actually not. It's a "feeling" she gets more than anything. She can't really explain how she knows, she just does. As for the self-preservation thing, she does have one, and won't go down without a fight. Hell, she could be nearly unconscious and she'd still try to get up. But, if another person's well being is on the line, she'll do everything up to and including risking her own well being/life to keep them safe. There are a few exceptions of course, but nine times out've ten she won't think twice about jeopardizing her safety for another's. If it came down to a choice between her life and someone else's, there wouldn't be any contest.
Though her tolerance level varies, she normally has a pretty long fuse and doesn't get annoyed easily. However, depending on several factors which include fatigue, caffeine level, and who's annoying her, she can snap and snap hard. When it does come out her temper is not a pretty thing. She can be as mean as any and viscous in a fight, no qualms about playing dirty and making low blows.
History,
Carter was born in the U.S to an upper middle class family as a human. To the outside world, her family was happy; her mother almost always had a smile on her face and her father wouldn't settle for anything but the best. But if you looked closer, you'd see the cracks. Her mother always had a smile on her face because that was just her way: she was a humorous, independent and lovely woman. But the main reason was because she was often left to her own devices with Carter, essentially a single mom because he traveled a lot. Her father provided the best because he was obsessed with appearances, wanting to show what he had that the next person didn't. His family was a novelty, a decoration. Merely another thing of his to be admired when he said "look at my beautiful family. Look at how happy we are and look at our big house and fancy cars." He traveled often for work and was for days, weeks, even months at a time if Carter and her mom were lucky. They both looked forward to his leaving, knowing they'd be able to do more when he wasn't there and have a good time.
Carter was smart as a child, especially when it came to emotions of others and people. She didn't love her father though she had to ac like it when he was home. Her parents divorced when she was young and Carter and her mother had to leave behind the big house and fancy cars. They couldn't be happier. They went to live with her mom's grandparents in a new city in a small house with old. well-loved trucks. Those years were some of the happiest, living with her mother, her grandma, and the man she'd always thought of as her true father: her grandpa.
And then one day that all changed. Carter came home from a sleepover to find her family gone. Blood everywhere but no bodies. It took a week for authorities to find their remains, scattered in a forest not too far from the city. The concluded the deaths were by some crazed madman who dumped the bodies in the forest to let the animals eat away evidence. After all, this was five years before the Glamour fell. They had no reason to believe what it really was; a Lycan attack. The night Carter was away just so happened to be a full moon. At age seven Carter became an orphan. Her mother, her grandma, her grandpa, all dead. They couldn't find her father so she was sent to where all unwanted or sole surviving children were sent to: an orphanage. But she didn't stay long, running away after only six months.
A pack found her 8 years before the Glamour fell when she was seven, the alpha taking pity on the scared, weak little human who had just lost her family. Carter latched onto them after months of starving for a real family. The fact that they were Lycans was of little concern to her. If she was a normal little girl, she would've been terrified, but as it stood it only made her like them more, her curiosity and fascination with the weird overriding any fear. The only thing she didn't like was the changing. The thought of changing terrified her, though not for the reasons you might think. After losing her family she detested the thought of loosing control, was afraid to. She had to in complete control of herself at all times, unwilling to allow someone or something else to make decisions for her or rob her of her ability to.
Nine years after they found her, on her sixteenth birthday, her pack -indeed she was a pack member even though she was human- asked her a question. Would you like to join us? They wanted to turn her. It was a no brainer. She told them no. The fact that the Glamour had fallen one year earlier in 2013 had nothing to do with her decision. As she got older she had become more and more subject to pack rule and started to see how controlling her alpha was. She knew if she allowed them to turn her she wouldn't just loose control of herself every full moon, she'd have to stay with the pack. The Alpha would refuse to let her leave. While they were her family, her knowing them longer than she knew her own parents, she resented another having so much power over her. She loved them. She didn't want to be under their thumb. When it came down to it though her reasons didn't matter. They turned her anyway.
So she ran away again. The pack had taught their human pup to fight. At the time they'd be proud she was such a quick learner. Now they regretted teaching her how to fight like a wolf. After leaving them she got relocated to HollowHill, a new Lycan.
Other,
Hey ya'll I'm Blitzy. I've been rping for about 6 years now and yeah.

Her fingers twitched with the urge to remove his hood, but she managed to restrain herself. Whatever he was hiding under there couldn't be that bad, right? And it wasn't like it was going to scare her or anything. Yes Carter was confident and while she was extremely intelligent, she did have bouts of what others would call stupidity. Like not being afraid of someone that everyone else was. Yes, she'd heard snippets of the rumors in passing, but the extent of her knowledge of the boy -man?- in front of her flat lined at him apparently being half shark. Carter, as you may have guessed, was perfectly okay with that fact. She was hard to shake up before coming to the Academy, now she was practically unflappable. She expected not knowing what to expect, rolling with the punches as they came and coming up swinging. Since he was touted as part fish, she expected the gills and the teeth and all that. You couldn't really scare someone who was expecting it, now could you?
He growled again and her lips twitched; she had to actually bite down a little on the bottom one to keep from laughing. She couldn't help it. It was hilarious really; big, bad shark-man growling and she wasn't the least bit nervous. She was amused at her lack of fear. And the fact that somehow, someway, the growl sounded, well, adorable. Odd, since he probably meant it as a threat or a scare tactic, but it was adorable nonetheless to her. Weird.
She was just about to make a crack about his name and the shark species that shared it when he showed her his eyes. Her demeanor almost instantly changed, lips parting as she looked at them. Again, she wasn't scared. She could just think that for his eyes to get that way it had to hurt. A lot. She almost winced just thinking about what might have done that too him. Who did that to you? She could tell he was used to people backing off at the site of them, if his body language was anything to go by. Not Carter. She actually leaned closer, trying to get a better look. His eyes were actually very pretty. She'd never seen anyone with the same eye color as him. Her own eyes were plain amber, a run of the mill split off from brown.
When he mentioned the beach she mentally shook herself, not quite sad but not quite happy for the distraction, giving a small apologetic smile and moving back to her original position, thinking he probably wanted his space before chuckling, meeting those eyes of his head on as she talked. "I love the beach and I was planning on testing out an idea I had for my waterspouts," she shrugged, inadvertently letting him know she also had control over water if he was paying attention. When he mentioned sharks she grinned again, unable to resist at the mention of her favorite water animal. "As for the sharks, eh." She shrugged again. "For the most part if you don't mess with them they won't mess with you and if they do it's only because they're hungry or investigating." She was in the minority, most people seeming to think that sharks were mean things, attacking people just for the hell of it. Most shark "attacks" were actually usually just exploratory nips, trying to find out if something was edible. "Besides, I love sharks. It'd be awesome to see one." She laughed. But while it was true, she also hoped that the statement would prod him into lowering his hood. What was the point of being obvious when you could be sneaky?
"What about you? What brings you to the beach, Sharky?" She hadn't planned saying it, really she hadn't, but come on. It was too good to pass up. Being named for a shark species and being part shark himself it made perfect sense. But it was kinda funny. Huge shark guy being called an admittedly almost cutesy-sounding nickname.
